We have now survived our first full week of school! I feel like I'm still trying to get back in the usual swing of things and back on a schedule, but we will get there. My kids are loving their school year so far, so that's good. Here are a few things I'm liking to send you into your weekend...
I have started canning this last week, so one of my favorites right now is my steam canner...it looks a lot like this one here. I got mine as a birthday present from my mom several years
ago, and I've definitely gotten a lot of use out of it. Canning can feel a little stressful and hectic at times, because it is a lot of work. But it always feels so worth it when I look at my pantry full of all those pretty glass bottles I canned myself.
One of the products I love for doing my kids' hair each morning is this Herbal Essences spray gel. It works great for all hair types, I use it on my boys and my little girl. It's got a good stickiness effect for little kid's hair, without all the weighing down that regular gel or hairspray sometimes does. I just get it at Wal-mart, one bottle usually lasts us a month or more.
Along with a back-to-school routine, I have been trying to get back in a better work out routine. Working out and exercising always makes me feel better and ready for the day. I really enjoy running and do quite a bit of that, but I also like the occassional workout video. I have had this Jillian Michaels-30 Day Shred DVD for awhile and I like it for a quick, but effective workout. I need some more ideas though...any of you want to tell me your favorite workout videos? I would especially like to find a good Pilates one, so if you have one you like, please share!
And here is a favorite picture from last week...my little miss and I got to have a one-on-one date together...we went to Subway for dinner and hiked the Y. :)
This weekend I am trying to keep up with all my canning and using up all the produce our garden keeps producing! Wish me luck. :) Happy Weekend!

When I don't have my own plan or routine and want to let someone else do the thinking for me, I use fitnessblender.com. They are online workouts for free and really good. They have a wide variety of exercises on there, including some pilates workouts.
Thank you Stephanie! I will check that out.
